Since 2003, NEOgas has acted as Industrial Partner in a project sponsored by the US Department of Energy. As part of the Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (“CRADA”) signed with DOE more than $1.8 million has been invested to date with three basic tasks as the R & D focus:

1. The design and development of light-weight vessels for increasing transport payloads while maintaining or lowering current transport equipment costs;

2. Developing a roadmap for the refurbishment of the aging natural gas refueling station equipment installed throughout the former Soviet Union during the late 1980’s; and

3. Developing a working prototype of NEOgas’ patented “wet compressor” system.

This research and development project operated through DOE’s Initiatives for Proliferation Prevention Program. The other key participants in this three way CRADA were the Russian All Nuclear Laboratory VNIEFF, located in Sarov, Russia and the DOE’s National Renewable Laboratory, located in Golden, Colorado.

NEOgas is bringing several new technologies related to these three primary tasks to markets outside of Russia in the near future.

This project was completed in 2007
